RICHMOND, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX:MDA) said Thursday it earned $27.5 million in its latest quarter, up from $25.3 million a year ago.
RICHMOND, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX:MDA) said Thursday it earned $27.5 million in its latest quarter, up from $25.3 million a year ago.
The company said the profit amounted to 67 cents per diluted share for the quarter ended June 30 compared with a profit of 62 cents per diluted share a year ago.
Revenue totalled $258.4 million, up from $245.8 million.
MDA's information systems division, which includes its satellite business, increased revenue to $141 million compared to $101 million for the same period of last year.
The information products business, which includes its property information service, reported revenue of $117.4 million, down from $144.4 million.
The company's order backlog at June 30 was $928 million.
MDA employs more than 3,200 people in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada.
Shares in the company, which reported its results after the end of the trading day, were up 40 cents at $45 on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Thursday.
